Board Member Biographies

Our board is made up of a wide variety of volunteers. See below for "a glimpse" of our leaders.



David Blake – President
After retiring from the US Air Force, David and his family settled in the Temecula Valley. He and his wife, Terry, have four children. He serves as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources for the National University System. His prior experience includes a twenty year career with the United States Air Force. He holds a BA in Vocational Education from Southern Illinois University, a MA in Management from University of Redlands and is currently completing a PhD in Organizational Development from Capella University. Dave is the immediate past president of the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors serving in that capacity for four years. Not a newcomer to Habitat, David previously helped build houses in Alabama and Florida.

Clyde Bacon – Vice President
Clyde is a currently an agent with AFLAC after spending 10 years in managed behavioral healthcare. He graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1974. He moved to California in 1981 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Clyde lives in Temecula with his wife of 17 years, Jill, and their three daughters. He is the Past President of the Toast of the Valley Toastmasters Club and past president of Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley. Clyde also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Administration at Mountain View Community Church.

Lorie Schulenberg – Treasurer
A commercial banker and Senior Vice President for California Bank & Trust, Lorie manages three of their branch offices. She is married and has two children. Lorie has been an active resident of the Temecula Valley for eight years and is a Past President of the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors and the Murrieta Rotary Club. Lorie is also a member of the Habitat Fundraising Team.

Liz Bibb – Secretary and Public Relations Team Lead
Liz and her husband Bill, also a Habitat volunteer, have lived in Temecula six years. She is retired after working 30 years in various business administration positions, both in managerial and individual contributor roles. She has one daughter and three grandchildren. In addition to her work with Habitat, Liz volunteers in the community and at local schools as a Master Gardener and Master Composter. She also spends one day a week as a helper in her grandchildren’s classrooms.

Estella Cline
Estella and her husband have lived in the area for eight years. They have two children and are members of Mountain View Community Church where Estella also serves on the Board. Estella is with the Riverside County Credit Union. She is also active in the community and is a member of the Temecula and Murrieta Chambers of Commerce, plus the Professional Women of Riverside. She is on the Habitat Public Relations Team.

Brad Eskildsen
Brad Eskildsen, his wife Karen and their 5 children have resided in Temecula Valley for the last 13 years. With over 16 years experience in new home construction, Brad currently serves as Purchasing Agent for Centex Homes Inland Empire Division and has been employed with the company since 1997. He has been active in Habitat for Humanity since 1995.

Luanne Jobgen
Luanne Jobgen and her husband John have lived in Temecula for close to 30 years. They have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. Although currently retired, Luanne has over 20 years of experience in the building industry. Besides her involvement in Habitat, Luanne belongs to the Temecula and Murrieta Chamber of Commerce's and is a member of the Professional Women's Roundtable, the Temecula Connection Networking Group, the Blue Thong Society and is a founder member of Ladies of Value. In addition, she is a consultant for Cookie Lee Jewelry.

Steven McCarty
Steven McCarty currently works as the sole staff member of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Lake Elsinore. Prior to working for City of Lake Elsinore, Steven worked for California’s largest nonprofit real estate developer, BRIDGE Housing Corporation assisting with the development of several affordable housing projects in Orange and San Diego Counties. In college, Steven was an active volunteer in Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together in northern and southern California. Steven has a Masters in Public Policy and Management from the University of Southern California and earned his bachelors degree from UC Berkeley in Political Science.

Craig Pena
Born and raised in California's Marin County, and moved to Temecula in 1994. He is married and has four children. He teaches Middle School Math at Van Avery Prep. He also serves as Van Avery’s Technical Director, and sits on their Administrative Board of Directors. In addition to a teaching credential, Craig has a BS in economics and worked for five years as an economist for the Department of Labor. He is currently serving on the Public Relations team. He is a member of the Los Ranchitos Home Owners Association and has taught soccer in Temecula since 2000.

Vicki Puterbaugh
Vicki and her husband, Jerry Throckmorton, first started helping Habitat in the early 1990’s and have been active ever since, both in fundraising and working on houses. They have lived in Temecula for 14 years and have been local realtors since 1990. Vicki and Jerry are top producers associated with Rancon Realty. They are also a community service team. Vicki and Jerry are the founders of the annual realtor Community Food Drive, which they have expanded into the schools. They also volunteer with People Helping People. Vicki has two grown children, a son and a daughter. Daughter Cori, a member of the Ladies of Harley, is also Habitat volunteer.

Ron Roberts
Ron is a past Mayor of the City of Temecula, current City Council member, Chairman of Riverside County Transportation Commission, Vice President of Southern California Association of Governments, and Board Member of Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metro link). He is a retired CHP officer.

Earl Totty
A graduate of U.S. Naval Academy, Earl also has a MA in Information Technology. He and his wife have two children, and are members of Mountain View Community Church. They are ten-year area residents. In addition to his naval career, Earl has a background in materials management and logistics. He is currently on the Public Relations Team.

Tammy Marine - Executive Director
With over 17 years experience in the non-profit sector, Tammy has served as Executive Director since February of 2005. She has an education in Business Management and earned a certificate in Non-Profit Leadership at Cal State San Marcos in 1997. She lives in Temecula with her husband of 20 years, Scott, and has two children, Dustin and Lindsay. She also serves as secretary of the Rotary club of Temecula.

Tim Miller – Helping Hands Project Coordinator
Tim is currently a Product Line Manager for PlantCML, a local technology company. Tim has a BSEE from the University of Illinois and an MBA. He moved to Temecula in 1998 with his wife Denise and son Ryan. Prior to his involvement at Habitat, he completed a few small developments and some custom home building projects.
