Volunteer opportunities are ample at Habitat for Humanity Inland
Valley. Responsibilities range from clerical assistance to committee
work to hands-on construction. Hours and duration are flexible
based upon your schedule. Opportunities are available in the following
areas:

Volunteer Opportunities
• Greet customers and donors
• Answer phones
• Cash register
• Clean and organize merchandise and the store
• Tag and price merchandise
• Load and unload merchandise
• Drive or assist driver in picking up donated materials
• Forklift operator
• Research and write grants
• Help plan and execute special events
Construction
Site Volunteer Opportunities
Construction related tasks:
Crew Leader – responsible for a small
crew given a specific task
Site Supervisor – ensures the tasks
scheduled for the day are complete, checks on quality control,
monitors
job safety practices
Laborers – trained and perform the
tasks of the day in all areas of the build
Non-construction related tasks:
Volunteer Registration – checks in volunteers
and ensures waivers are signed, directs volunteers to their
assigned work area
Beverage and snack table crew – serves
drinks and hands out snacks to volunteers
Lunch Coordinator – coordinates daily
lunches for crew with volunteer organizations such as scout
troops, church groups, etc
First Aid station – helps with minor
cuts and scrapes
End of day clean-up – cleans up job
site including loose nails, trash and other items, ensures
all tools
and equipment are
locked up, sweeps inside of house and rakes/sweeps outside
Telephone crew – calls, reminds and
ensures that volunteers are in place for the next working day.
House Dedication Crew – helps with the
planning, organizing and coordinates dedication ceremony and
reception
Couriers – picks up and delivers items
Clerical assistance – helps with letters,
copying, recognition, etc.
House clean-up crew – assists with the
final cleaning of interior of house
